Services are the building blocks of proposals in Practice Ignition. Think of it as Lego pieces to build an awesome ship! Having pre-defined yet customizable services are what makes it quick and easy to build proposals.
If you already have defined services:
That is awesome! Follow the next steps and copy and paste the contents into PI's service library.

Setting Up Services
Head to Library on the left-hand menu to navigate to the Services page. When you first sign up for Practice Ignition, there is a sample service template set up for you already. You can edit or duplicate this service to create a similar one, or alternatively you can create your own from scratch.
Let's add a brand new Service. Click on New Service
You will be taken to the Service Set Up tab.
Give your service a name. This is client-facing and can't be changed at the proposal level.
Next, add a Service Description. This is where you will outline the deliverables of the service for the client. You can customize the description for each client when creating a proposal.
As a best practice, we recommend the following structure (where applicable):
- Deliverables: What you will do for your client?
- Software: What software will your client be interacting with to complete this service?
- Limitations: What is considered out of scope of this service?
- Timeline: When would you expect to complete this service? If it's a recurring service, what frequency will the deliverables be completed?
Please note: Placeholders will not work in service descriptions. However, they will be usable in Service Terms.
Next, select a Billing Type and define a price for your service.
You are now setting a default price for the service. This can always be customized when creating a proposal.
- For one-time services, choose On Acceptance, On Completion, or Estimates
- For ongoing services, choose Recurring for monthly billing
- For value added services, choose Included Service.
If you have specific terms and conditions for your service, you can add these by clicking on Terms. This is where you can define service specific terms and conditions. These can be dynamically included in your engagement letter template when this service is selected
Finalizing your Service
Once you've entered all your service details, click on Save Service, or use the drop down and choose Save and add another to immediately start creating your next service.
