Services are the building blocks of proposals in Ignition. Think of it as lego pieces to build a professional and slick proposal!

Having pre-defined yet customizable services are what makes it quick and easy to build proposals.

If you already have defined services:
Great! Follow these steps to import your services into Ignition:

If you don't have defined services yet:
Every Ignition account comes pre-loaded with Examples Services based on the industry you specified during sign-up! These are regionalised and you can change/edit them however you wish to get a head start on your own service list.

Setting Up Services

Navigate to your Services tab.

Let's add a brand new Service. Click the + New service button.

You will be taken to the Service setup screen.

Service Details

Give your service a name. This is client-facing and can't be changed at the proposal level.

Next, add a Service Description. This is where you will outline the deliverables of the service for the client. You can customize the description for each client when creating a proposal.

As best practice, we recommend the following structure (where applicable):

  • Deliverables: What you will do for your client?

  • Software: What software will your client be interacting with to complete this service?

  • Limitations: What is considered out of scope of this service?

  • Timeline: When would you expect to complete this service? If it's a recurring service, what frequency will the deliverables be completed?

Please note:

  • Placeholders will not work in service descriptions. However, they will be usable in Service Terms.

  • Images are not supported in service descriptions or service terms.

Pricing

Next, select a Billing Type and define a price for your service.

You are now setting a default price for the service. Remember, you can always customize this on a per-client basis on their proposals! When you do, the service template will not be affected.

Service Terms

If you have specific terms and conditions for your service, you can add these by clicking on Terms. Scroll down and add your service-specific terms and conditions in the Service terms field.

These can be dynamically included in your engagement letter template when this service is selected.
