Practice Ignition integrates with QuickBooks Online to automatically create and push invoices according to the billing information specified in your proposals.

See the steps below on how to connect QuickBooks to your Practice Ignition account.

Note: We do not currently support the use of multiple accounting platforms at once. If you have integrated with one platform, you must switch off that integration before connecting to a different platform.

How to connect to your Quickbooks Account

1. Go to Apps > QuickBooks and click on Connect your account.

You'll be prompted to connect your Quickbooks account through a pop-up box, if you aren't already logged in. You will then be asked to select a company to authorise the connection between Practice Ignition and QuickBooks.

Note: If you have multiple QBO files, be sure to connect the right one!

Once you've authorized the connection, you will be redirected back to Practice Ignition.

2. Now, we'll need to set your App Settings before you can enable the integration. Please see this article on configuring the specific QBO Settings.

3. You will be required to map your tax rates from Quickbooks. If you charge tax, please ensure that this is completed to enable tax on your proposals!

Click this article to read more about configuring and mapping tax rates.

Next, click on Enable Quickbooks to connect Practice Ignition and Quickbooks!

Connection Settings

Practice Ignition connects to a number of fields in QBO - most of them are the ones you can edit under the QBO settings mentioned above, and then there are the client names in QBO. If you make a change to any of the settings from within QBO, or change a client name and need to see it reflected in Practice Ignition straight away, you can click Sync to refresh the data.  We also refresh this data every hour.

Please note, Practice Ignition does facilitate a 2 way sync of client information to QuickBooks - it connects your Practice Ignition clients to QuickBooks clients through Mapping.

If you need to connect to another organization in QuickBooks, or remove the connection, simply click the Disconnect QuickBooks button and go through the steps in this article again to link them.

Note: We do not currently support the use of multiple accounting platforms at once. If you have integrated with one platform, you must switch off that integration before connecting to a different platform.
