If you wish to collect payments for invoices that were issued in the past, you can do so quite easily in Ignition!

Note: If your client doesn't have their payment details in Ignition yet, you will need to update their payment details first. Check out this article to learn how. You can skip this if they have entered their payment details or if they have a previous proposal with you with payments enabled.

Here's how to collect payment for invoices that have skipped collection:

First, let's ensure that payments are enabled on the proposal. Open the proposal you need to work on and click on Enable payments if you need to enable payments.

Otherwise, if a payment method is already enabled, ensure that the right payment method is selected. Otherwise, you can select the right payment method by clicking Manage payments. Choose which payment details to use or add a new one and click Save.

Then, navigate to the client's Invoices & Payments tab. You can navigate by clicking into the client β†’ Invoices & Payments tab.

Here, you'll be able to see whether or not an invoice has been collected, indicated by the line at the bottom of the invoice.

To collect payment for this invoice, click on the invoice β†’ Schedule payment.

Then, you can determine whether you'd like to collect that payment now or schedule it to do so at a later date.
